About
I’m a Vancouver-based journalist who most recently was a metro news reporter for The Vancouver Sun.
In spring of 2011 I finished a Master of Journalism degree at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver. I’ve reported and written about an array of topics including fighter jets, foreign policy and espionage.
Other issues have caught my attention including agriculture, access to food, and the battle over the right to consume raw milk—a product favoured by whole foods activists yet feared by government and mainstream scientists.
I’ve also written and reported for Embassy Magazine, The Tyee, The Globe and Mail, The North Shore News, and others.
I spent much of the last year working with a group of 8 fellow students from the University of British Columbia in concert with Al Jazeera on a documentary called Freedom from Pain. The half-hour film about global health and access to end-of-life palliative treatment in India, Uganda and the Ukraine premiered last July on AJE’s People & Power.
More on that can be found at The Pain Project.
I come from the northern reaches of British Columbia’s Okanagan Valley.
